I like it. I have some mixed feelings about the book covers on the welcome page, but I'm generally impressed. There's *a lot* of navigable information.

i think it looks good. in general, i find flashing distracting, but one won't spend too much time on that opening page. i don't know who wouldn't want to be associated with a dept represented by such a professional looking site.
also, i didn't like the wording of my first post, so i deleted and started again. it wasn't a mysterious reader.
I've really liked how the new page looks. The book covers are great, although I notice that the animation stops if you mouse over the graphic (at least in Firefox). And I expected clicking on a particular text to take me to a faculty member's page, but that didn't happen, unfortunately.
